THE CURRENT STANDARDS
The current standards for building materials and practices are notoriously poor allowing for dangerously high levels of toxicity in residential and commercial projects. This standard evolved after WW2 after construction moved away from using much healthier natural and indigenous materials in favor of the less costly but more harmful other ones. These outdated standards, developed at the height of plastics, microfibers and petrochemicals, have become conventional, poisoning our residential and commercial spaces ever since.
THE HÄLSA STANDARD
The Hälsa Standard means to move the needle forward and make much-needed progress to approach interior design unconventionally: with the health and wellness of people first.
The standards include the latest technology and healthy natural alternatives that are tried and true by our team of Hälsa approved building materials from glues to insulation, to exclusively low VOC products that contractors generally don’t offer. The best part is that these invaluably healthier alternative materials that we work with often cost only 15-20% more than their conventional versions but don’t cost any more to install.
